Vlad Tislenko, a partner at SMRK VC, has launched Startup Due Dil, a web application designed to automate venture capital due diligence. This new AI tool streamlines the collection, verification, and structuring of information, aiming to reduce the time spent on due diligence from hours to as little as ten minutes. The application specifically targets startup verification and is poised to refine the investment process by enhancing data handling efficiency.

The introduction of such AI-driven platforms reflects a growing emphasis on augmented intelligence within financial markets. For instance, the Ai For Alpha project, which concluded in March 2024, developed a solution based on advanced artificial intelligence techniques to help investment professionals. Its objective was to enable asset managers to better understand the complexity of financial markets and make informed investment decisions, acknowledging the impossibility for humans to analyse rapidly flowing and sometimes contradictory information signals simultaneously. This project underscored the need for machine assistance to enhance human processes in an increasingly complex world.

Similarly, the The Digital R&D team member project, active until April 2025, focused on creating a digital R&D team member capable of autonomously reading data, analyzing content, and developing insights. This initiative aimed to increase corporate innovation efficiency by reducing the significant time industry researchers spend searching for, aggregating, and cleaning data. Both projects highlight a broader trend where AI is deployed to enhance efficiency and decision-making by automating strenuous information processing tasks across different sectors.

What this means: The emergence of specialized AI tools like Startup Due Dil signifies a pivotal shift in venture capital, promising faster, more data-driven investment decisions. This trend aligns with ongoing efforts to integrate augmented intelligence into complex analytical workflows, ultimately boosting efficiency and insight across industries.
