The European tech market has seen a series of significant investments, underscoring robust activity across deeptech, AI, and specialised sectors. A notable development includes the UK-based AI startup Callosum, which recently secured an exceptional $100 million in seed funding. This substantial round will fuel the development of its software infrastructure, designed to enable AI workloads to operate seamlessly across diverse chips and AI models. The investment highlights a strong European appetite for foundational AI technologies.
Further strengthening the deeptech landscape, Swedish deeptech company Solinide Photonics successfully closed a €4 million seed funding round. This capital is earmarked for the commercialisation of its advanced silicon nitride photonic integrated circuit technology, with a strategic focus on preparing for scalable manufacturing to serve the burgeoning AI data centre market.
Beyond these high-value rounds, diverse innovation continues to attract investment. UK golf technology startup Paralo raised £270,000 in an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round. The company aims to address the fragmented technology stack within the golf industry, working towards an operating system for golf clubs and golfers.
Meanwhile, France solidified its position as one of Europe’s leading tech funding markets in the first half of 2026. Investment was heavily concentrated across key sectors, including AI, space technology, fintech, and healthcare. Several large transactions shaped the total, notably a significant investment involving Eutelsa, reflecting sustained investor confidence in the French tech ecosystem.
What this means: Europe's tech sector continues to attract substantial and varied investment, with a particular emphasis on deeptech and AI infrastructure. This trend indicates ongoing innovation and a strategic focus on next-generation technologies, while established markets like France maintain strong funding activity across diverse segments.
